COURSE COMPLETION AND WATER SAFETY RE-QUALIFICATIONS ARE DUE

Friendly Reminder that all Age Group Managers need to have completed the following courses in the elearning portal on their SLSA Members page:

  1. SLA Age Managers

  2. SLA Child Safe Awareness

This is compulsory and you will not be able to be an Age Group Manager without completing these.

We are also calling for AGM's to be sure they have re-qualled their Water Safety Certs, please See Sarah our education coordinator if you need to be assessed

If you would like to step into an Age Group Manager role at our Sunday Woodside Nipper sessions please contact nippercoordinator@mandurahslsc.asn.au

NIPPERS AGE GROUP FACEBOOK GROUPS

We have allocated our Age Group Managers to their Facebook Groups to allow them to share important information about sessions, your group and the club.

These dedicated groups are designed to bring parents and guardians together as we celebrate the joy and adventure of Nippers!

You can find the links to the groups below:

See you on the beach 8am marshal for an 8.30am SHARP start!

SWIM EVALUATIONS

All Nippers who are signing up for the season will need to complete a short swim evaluation, even if they have participated previously.

This ensures the safety of all participants during sessions and gives our Age Group Manager volunteers a chance to determine swim skill levels for their group.

Once you have registered and paid for the season, and been evaluated you will receive your Nippers pack including cap, vest, hat and bag.

PREREQUISITES

- Swimmers are asked to please pay club registration fees for the season prior to being evaluated by their Age Group Manager

SURF SPORTS

SURF SPORTS UPDATES

A friendly message from Sunita your Surf Sports Coordinator.

“As 2023 draws to a close…yup we are 4 weeks out from the new year!!! I want to say a BIG thank you to all of our volunteer coaches.

We are looking for additional coaches at board training to work in rotation with myself and other helpers in assisting our youngest and novice members in the water.

Fantastic experience and great for those who want to have a more social session occasionally rather than full on paddling and swimming.

Competition season is well and truly upon us. Go to mybeach.com.au to register for any of the carnivals. Speak to Sunni or Chris if you need help with wristbands, equipment, uniform etc.

Please look to our Stack Team App for the December Training Schedule.

VOLUNTEER CALL OUT

Do you want to be a helper?

We have a range of activities that need extra hands this Season.

From carrying gear to helping out Age Group Managers, or helping coordinate our amazing volunteers and cooking up a storm at the BBQ, every bit of assistance helps.

The more help we have the lighter the load and better the Woodside Nipper and Club experience for everyone!

We will provide the assist with any necessary training and there are already helpers in the group so you won’t be alone.

Contact volunteers@mandurahslsc.asn.au or sign up below.

There really is something for everyone, we just need more hands!

True or False

'It is safe to play in the dunes and bushland at the club during active snake seasons'

A: FALSE! Snakes are highly active at the moment across Western Australia. We encourage all of our members and visitors to be vigilant when walking our local paths and beaches, keep to the allocated walkways where possible and stay informed of safe practise should you cross a snakes path... Back away slowly and carefully, give a wide berth, notify a representative if near a community meeting place and DO NOT attempt to pick it up or remove it yourself.
